Barbara Boxer: Please Call Me 'Senator'

It seems that the elderly Barbara Boxer got her panties in a twist because a General referred to her as “Ma’am” instead of Senator. Even though the General referred to the male senators as “sir” the word “ma’am” seemed to offend the strong and independent Barbara Boxer.

Below is a video of the incident.

  3. Maybe if you find out why all high rank women in Star Trek universe are called "Sir" you'll find the answer. You geek :P
All people with title are hypersensitive. Call a male doctor or a captain "Mr" they throw a tantrum.

  5. Bah. Vulcans like to work on controlling their emotions. Whenever someone called Spock Mr rather than Commander you just know deep inside he wanted to snap their neck.

  6. The Queen of England is called "Ma'am".

Boxer is out to lunch as usual. This was just a power play -- she wanted to flex her feminist muscles and put the guy on the spot. It reflects insecurity in her part, which is pretty typical of the feminist women of her generation.
