Rand Paul: GOP needs to help African Americans
Rand Paul is proposing the usual Republican scheme of trying to "fix" African-Americans. This is typically the notion that if the government should implement some sort of jobs program or tax incentive, this will transform Africans into Europeans. Rand Paul fails to give details of his plans. But "reaching out" to African-Americans is sure to be a winning strategy for Republicans. Something like that.
Of course, Rand Paul knows this is fiction. All such programs that have been attempted over the past 50 years have failed. The problem (which cannot be admitted due to religious and ideological reasons) is genetics. People are different and we need to accept those differences. A government program cannot fix genetics.
Well.. a government program can fix genetics, but it takes a) and acknowledgement that the problem is genetic and b) generations.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to disagree with you on the genetics as cause argument. Certainly there are issues in the Black community but in addition to genetics, there is another commonality, the support for government intervention into the economy. Some people see a housing project in the inner city, and the area surrounding the housing project is blighted. Instead of banks there are check cashing spots. No restaurants but there are "take out joints". Few if any supermarkets but there are convenience stores where prices are high. While you may see genetics, I see a command economy. Black folks are up to their eyeballs in government intervention and this influences culture. I consider a basic rule of economics: when you subsidize something, you get more of it. Unemployment is subsidized and an unintended consequence is the subsidization of out of wedlock birth. Anyone can quit their job, go to the government, get free housing, free money, and spend your days having sex, smoking blunts, drinking forties, and eating chicken wings.

It costs about $30,000 per year to incarcerate a black in prison and the average prison stay is approximately 5 years. 5 X $30K = $150,000 taxpayer investment to keep one off the street for a couple of years. However, if this $150,000 were to be a resettlement incentive to immigrate to Africa permenantly then it just may work. Whites have got to stop this insane centuries old idea that blacks can be made into whites and desire the same things whites want. Africa is their destiny....(let's hope!)
ReplyDeleteIn fact, this is how the entire Republican Party and Establishment Conservatism have been operating for the last 40 years. Pandering to the leftist press and betraying the nation and their supporters at every turn. For example, the only place you'll find less about black on white violence than in the Washington Post is in National Review.
