White Men Need Not Apply

Robert Reich, Obama’s economic advisor, recently made the following comments to Congress:

I am concerned, as I’m sure many of you are, that these jobs not simply go to high-skilled people who are already professionals or to white male construction workers. … I have nothing against white male construction workers. I’m just saying that there are a lot of other people who have needs as well. … Criteria can be set so that the money does go to others, the long term unemployed minorities, women, people who are not necessarily construction workers or high-skilled professionals.



Of course, if Reich had mentioned any other demographic group, he would now be out of a job. But he realizes that White Males are a safe target. We are expected to produce and maintain civilization while others loot.

This is an example of what occurs under socialism. Instead of rewarding people based on their ability, we reward people based on their need. The people who have the ability are sacrificed for the NEEDS of others. Jobs are given not based on ability, but on need and government pull. To excel in socialism you need not talent, but government connections.

Of course, physical reality does not care about need. A bridge will only stand if it is designed and built by competent men.

The irony is that the people, who built this country, are now dispossessed. And the supposed goal of judging a man by his character, not his skin color was not really true. Reich plans to judge a man by his skin color to determine who receives this government loot (i.e. stimulus).
