Dear Zachary - A Movie Review

Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father is an outstanding documentary concerning the murder of Andrew Bagby by his girlfriend. The filmmaker created this film so that Bagby’s son, Zachary, would one day be able to learn about his father who he never got the chance to know.

What started out as a tribute to Andrew Bagby, evolved into a look at the custody battle between Shirley Turner (the murderer) and Zach’s paternal grandparents. The resulting legal malfeasance that occurred was stunning.

While not a fun movie to watch, it is an eye opener concerning the double standards and corruption that occurs every day in the legal system.
