The Policeman is our friend

There have been a couple of stories in the news recently concerning police acting poorly. Now that video cameras are ubiquitous, people are surprised to see how many cops act. I guess in my dealings with the police, I have never maintained that they are the heroes as portrayed on television. In real life, police tend to attract people who have a bully nature.

And I suppose that having an aggressive nature is necessary for the job. After all, the historical purpose of the police is to act as the hired thugs to keep the rulers in power. If you get out of line, you get a baton across the head. This is how it has always been.

Traditional conservatives (unlike neo-conservatives) have always understood the dangers of the police and the police state.

Below are a couple of videos recently in the news concerning this sort of behavior. For every video you see, there are a 1,000 incidents that you don’t see. The cops below were just too stupid to destroy the evidence.

In this video, the heroic cops beats up a 15 year old girl in a cell:


And in his video the police screws with an African American preventing him from seeing his dying mother-in-law.
