Why Fathers Day Sucks



I saw a story today (see link below) where Obama wrote his daughters expressing his regrets as a father. Of course, if he was sincere such a letter would be private and not sent to the media. However, it is not unusual for politicians to use their children as political props.

This story reminded me of why I loathe the big three guilt holidays – Valentine’s Day, Mothers Day and Fathers Day. All of these holidays are based on manipulation of what should be private emotions.

    Good video. Mothers & Fathers day is pretty awkward. Never know exactly what to do or say. You'd like Valentines in Japan Ramzpaul. It's only the girls that give gifts to men, it's a man's day.

    Japan also has a divorce rate of around 2%. Something works there that does not here, it seems.

    Father's Day is yet another reason to hold a "sale" to feed the consumerism of America. It also is a cultural endorsement intended to encourage men to become father's.

    Smart men see it for what it is worth.
