Leon Panetta, director of the CIA, revealed there was a 25 minute blackout during which the live feed from cameras mounted on the helmets of the US special forces was cut off.
A photograph released by the White House appeared to show the President and his aides in the situation room watching the action as it unfolded. In fact they had little knowledge of what was happening in the compound.
What should be the attitude of a government satisfying all ideals of Rand or Friedman towards other nations? Does Friedman's philosophy of "freedom to the extend that it doesn't prevent freedom of others" only apply internally, to people living within the nation that has a justice system in place to determine when the boundaries of freedom have been crossed? But Rand's philosophy is that it is "immoral" to force anyone to do anything against their will. Morality implies existence of some global rules of humanity, and so it should be independent of nations. What does Rand think about hostile takeover of other nations? Does she believe in self-determination, as you? If so, then she would understand the US's feelings of guilt associated with their past attitudes towards Native Americans (Indians). No?
ReplyDeleteNative Americans were not native. There was no America. There was only a bunch of warring Indian tribes who came to this land after original Europeans discovered it. Google Discovery's Salutrean Hypothesis as well as Vinland.
ReplyDeleteWhites are the only race in history who allowed their slaves to go free and gave them ALL the rights. No other race has done that.
If American Whites should feel guilty of establishing America. Then why don't the Japanese feel guilty for establishing JAPAN?! After all, the entire island of Hokkaido was populated before the Japanese, by Native Ainu people who were of Caucasian background.
They were instead wiped out, moved and blended out of existence. But nobody except White nations is made to feel guilty about their ancient history.
