Ashton Kutcher's portrayal of a man from India in an online advertisement for Popchips has been pulled following criticism that the commercial is racist.

The ad for the potato chips featured the 34-year-old "Two and a Half Men" star in brown makeup and pretending to be a Bollywood producer named Raj who is "looking for love." It was removed Thursday from YouTube and Facebook.

The $1.5-million ad campaign also features Kutcher as three other characters: a stoner, a tattooed Southerner and a cheeky fashionista. Those spots remain online.

A spokeswoman for Popchips says the ad campaign featuring the four characters was "created to provoke a few laughs and was never intended to stereotype or offend anyone.

  1. Was that supposed to be a Southern accent by Kutcher? He needs to work on that some more.

  2. The advertiser forgot that white people are the only acceptable targets for ridicule & mockery. Silly rabbits, dont they know we live in a country of easily offended assholes.
