I guess there are real penalties for being "edgy" in Russia.
The Moscow judge presiding over the trial of three feminist punk rockers says she will issue a verdict in the controversial case next week.
Prosecutors have called for three-year prison sentences for the three women, who gave an impromptu performance in Moscow's main cathedral to call for an end to Vladimir Putin's rule.

ReplyDeleteThey are Ukrainian and Russian provocateurs... right, but why do they all have English words everywhere, and speak English in their protests. Why is the band itself called Pussy Riot, doesn't sound Russian to me. Sound more like a band from Seattles (not 80's, 90's get on with the pop culture, this is following the Grrrl Riot scene, which happened on the side of the much more popular masculine counterpart, Grunge with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, well you know these bands I bet having your age... it was the "punk" of the Generation X folks, not the late Baby Boomers)... Anyway, Pussy Riot is still 20 years too late and in the wrong country. Grunge and Grrrl Riot music was purely American before it was recycled in other cultures. This scene today is where I'm from, Montreal... it turns into noise-rock and chaotic performance art mixed with very messy music. See Les Georges Leningrad on this subject. Or in Japan, it becomes something like Melt Banana... Anyway, long musical trends, punks just turned hardcore, then merged into dozens subgroups from there. Real punk died with Sex Pistols really, it was a one year deal. It was just to kill "symphonic rock" nonsense of the prog-rock fashions that became so detestable. Like the t-shirt said: "I Hate Pink Floyd" of one of the Sex Pistols members, this was rebellious while everybody loved Pink Floyd they came up and said: Fuck Them.
Pussy Riot just represent Soros-type leftists who play with their money to destabilize governments the world over. It's not a conspiracy, they may not really work for the Soros-type, but they do their bidding regardless if it came from the heart or not. The message of FEMEN or Pussy Riot is the same "Down With Religion, Down With Patriarchy". The leader of FEMEN live in France today, one of her more well known action is cutting down the Cross of the Martyrs. You know, all the people killed by Stalin, she cut that Cross down. What courage right, what historical understanding to attack such a symbol. It would be kind of like going to Washington to bulldoze Abraham Lincoln statue in a sense, completely spitting in the face of your whole history.
So that's what they are Ramzpaul, you didn't get it right this time, it was more complex than you made it sound... and of course Putin was right to put them in their place. Only 60 Minutes can brainwash the American public to make them believe these bitches were actually resisting some sort of "tyranny"... It's BS, it's for the same old useful idiots of the West.
