Sen. Ed Markey proposes eliminating free speech
The progressives are starting to take aim at the First Amendment. Of course, they claim they only want to eliminate "hate speech", not free speech. But what exactly is hate speech? Who defines it? In practice "hate speech" is whatever the government finds objectionable.
We see the example of "hate speech" laws in what was formerly known as England. England now rivals North Korea in arresting anyone that offends the ruling establishment.

U.S. Sen. Edward J. Markey wants the government to study and recommend ways to stop the Internet, TV and radio from “encouraging hate crimes,” but First Amendment advocates say the bill is a menace to free speech.
“This proposed legislation is worse than merely silly. It is dangerous,” said civil liberties lawyer Harvey A. Silverglate, arguing even hate speech is protected absent a crime. “It is not up to Sen. Markey, nor to the federal government, to define for a free people what speech is, and is not, acceptable

It's perfectly legal to slander Industrialization. You can dissemnate environmentalist theories with impunity. What the IPCC does is perfectly legal, in the USA, in the UK, in Germany, in Canada, in the Netherlands etc.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfectly legal to slander capitalism and "usury". Criticism of capitalism is generally welcomed. You can calumniate Thomas Edison and have theories about suppressed inventions from Nikola Tesla. So chic.
It's prefectly legal to defame essential rights like the Right to keep and Bear Arms. The media do it all the time. After the Sandy Hook massacre, many big outlets engaged in the hate speech to link the massacre to easy uncontroled accessibility of the weapon in question.
Gun controlist hate speech is classified as Ok, racist hate speech is not. There's a double-standard AGAINST the interest of the respective nation.
I'm a big fan, and I think I know your brand of comedy. So with the power failure thing, weren't you planning on having the lights come on to show you were taking a dump? Please respond. And if so, why did you change your mind? Was it one of those big fat wahabi guys? (fatwa for short, I suppose).
ReplyDeleteKnowing you, in the original version before good comedy lost out to good taste, we're in your bathroom, and you've got the Koran, and you are out of toilet paper, and you face a "dilemma."
Am I close?
Think of my videos as right wing performance art.
ReplyDeleteDon't think the net should be censored its too handy to look up your favorite hate filled bigot....eliminates the guesswork...besides it would drive us all underground.
