The Sad Puppies Revolution

"Sad puppies" is a campaign by various science fiction writers to fight against the blacklisting and censorship that is now common in the Science Fiction publishing industry. The "Social Justice Warriors" have taken over this genre and traditional science fiction has been replaced by transgender werewolf love stories. The Social Justice Warriors are more concerned with an author's political views than his work. As such, the "gatekeepers" have actively been fighting to remove normal people from publishing.

I doubt that authors such as Robert A. Heinlein or Frank Herbert would be able to publish in today's Cultural Marxist environment. Straight, White males are considered to be "enemies of the state" by the Social Justice Warriors.

In 1966 we had novels such as "Dune" winning the Hugo award. Under the current SJW regime, we have fiction such as, "If you were a dinosaur, my love" winning accolades. In the current political environment, being an obese, lesbian matters more than the quality of writing.

"Sad Puppies" has the radical idea that a piece of writing should be judged on its merits, not on the author's political views or his sexual perversions.

The SJWs are in a panic. After all, the revolution should only go one way! It is inconceivable that the forces opposed to cultural Marxism should ever fight back!

Their reaction reminds me of what happened to Nicolae Ceausescu in 1989. In his final speech, things started to get out of control. The idea that people would rebel against a communist state with a ruthless secret police was inconceivable. Ceausescu literally looked confused as if he could not understand what was happening. Less than a week later he was executed.

Things can change quickly. The SJWs might find they are on the wrong side of history.
