Why did Trump fire James Comey?



President Trump fired James Comey based on the recommendation of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Just six months ago the Democrats were screaming for Comey to be dismissed. Now that Trump fired Comey, the democrats now claim that it is some Russian conspiracy.

The problem with this narrative is that the recommendation for Comey to be fired came from Rod Rosenstein who was originally appointed by Obama. The idea that Rosenstein would be part of some Russian conspiracy is absurd.

As President, Trump has the legal right to dismiss the FBI director. This whole episode should be a non-event.
